Episode 9: Leading from the Co-Driver Seat with Leanne Junnila
“It’s a really fine balance because you’re there to support the driver. The driver’s the superstar. The driver’s the one that the TV cameras follow around and they’re signing all the autographs so you’re really there to make their job as easy as possible while trying to be as much of a leader and a coach in the background as you can.”
Leanne Junnila is a professional co-driver that has built a tremendous reputation in the sport of rally. Her hard work and commitment to learning has been a clear differentiator between her and others in the same field.
In this episode, we talk to Leanne Junnila a professional co-driver and the Canadian representative for the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission. Leanne approached the sport with a learning-focused approach from the very beginning and built a solid reputation from the beginning. It was her reputation that landed her some opportunities to race at the highest levels and it’s incredible to hear her talk about continuing to grow while giving back to the sport.
Even if you’re more interested in being in the driver seat, there is so much you can learn from Leanne’s mentality and her experience.
