Episode 6: Engine Tuning Deep Dive with Scott Clark, Founder of RealTuners
“You guys take your rally cars out and you thrash on them four hours on end so you have to understand tuning strategies for engines that run endurance-type events. Even though a rallycross is short, it’s still endurance.”
Scott Clark is the owner and Chief Calibration Officer of RealTuners. His work takes him to the fields in midwest Iowa to maximize performance of tractors to Bonneville and the streets of Oklahoma. Scott is an innovator in the engine control space and one of the original contributors to Megasquirt, an open source tuning system. This is a longer episode because we take the time to get technical pieces but it’s worth your time. We talk about the best tuning strategies for different types of racing, common pitfalls when installing your own ECU and reliable resources for DIY tuning.
